Building in Finestrat is nothing like building on the flat coastal plain. The old town climbs the foothills of the Puig Campana —the second-highest peak in the province at 1,408 metres— across a hill of steep streets and its famous hanging houses, while most new construction sits further up the slope, in developments such as Sierra Cortina.
